These are the best settings to use for those who are familiar with videography. I will share my secrets to the best settings, why you would use these settings, and how to color grade gopro footage in Davinci Resolve 17. I'm shooting using the Gopro Hero 7 Black, but The process is the same in Gopro 7, 8, 9 and Gopro Hero 10. Any of the Gopros work with the same principle, but hypersmooth is a very nice upgrade that the older versions lack. This how to guide focuses mostly on ski and mtb footage, but all the principles can be applied to any type of gopro footage. if you've ever used a Go Pro you'll know just how much of a blessing it can be to get access to the wide angle lens which allows you to get so much into your scene. The only down side is that you will notice a high degree of lens barrelling or distortion. So if you're looking to straighten those lines in your footage I am going to show you how you can do it using some free software: DaVinci Resolve. I am using the latest version 17.2 and I'll take you through all the steps to correct your footage and export the video out ready for use. GoPro cameras are action cameras that provide a wider fov(field of view) than most cameras can capture. The camera doesn't have a "fisheye" lens but rather a wide fov lens that due to the curvature that naturally happens when filming with a lens like this, it can give a "fisheye" look. You can set the default fov for your camera. Medium and Narrow fov use more of the center of the camera sensor and crop the edges giving a straighter and less rounded appearance. If you don't want "fisheye", I suggest you use these settings. #gopro #video #videoediting

With the new 10bit colour and sensor added to the hero 11, it's become so much more worth it to colour grade the videos after shooting in flat or native colour mode! How To SHARPEN GoPro Footage (the correct way) | FCP+DaVinci Resolve WORKFLOW Here is my video editing tutorial on how to properly sharpen your GoPro footage. In this video I show you how I start out editing my GoPro footage in Final Cut Pro. Then I'll export my GoPro footage to DaVinci Resolve to sharpen and export my GoPro footage or video for YouTube. The example GoPro clip I'm using is footage I filmed on the GoPro HERO10 Black in 4K60 4:3. This technique works for all GoPro cameras. The biggest thing is when you are filming with your GoPro is you want to have your GoPro ProTune sharpness setting on low. This workflow works just fine if you have your GoPro ProTune sharpness setting on medium as well. You just won't sharpen as much. This is a basic walk through how I color grade my underwater footage. I am a beginner at this but even at my level the footage looks better than using GoPro color profile. If you have any tips for me please leave them in the description section. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to color grading but as I get better so will my videos. GoPro Settings RES/FPS - 4K/60 Lens - Linear + HL Hypersmooth - Boost Bitrate - Standard (trying high next video) Shutter - Auto EV comp - (-0.5) White balance - Auto (Trying Native next video) ISO - 100/800 Sharpness - Medium Color - Flat As I stated in the video, no 2 clips are the same so color correction is very time consuming but the end result is much more satisfying than using GoPro color profile. If your footage is long, think about cutting it into clips to make color grading it much easier. To download Davinci Resolve, click the link below. UPDATE 9/2022 - All of the steps shown in this video work in Davinci Resolve 18! They keyframe issue is still a bug that BlackMagic Design hasn't fixed yet, but you can work around that by using the Inspector window to create and edit your keyframes for animating the camera. From Start to Finish, in this video I'll show you the fastest workflow I know for adding a 360-degree camera to your video recording arsenal. From using the GoPro Player App to export your .360 files to .MP4 files, using them in Multicam Clips [Multicam in DR tutorial link below], and how to use the Reframe360 plugin to reframe and animate the footage for your videos!
